A competition among Sioux City firefighters has helped raise money for the local Ronald McDonald House.
Personnel at each city fire station saved aluminum pull tabs from beverage cans and the station that had the most received a trophy.
Christy Batien, Executive Director of the local Ronald McDonald House, held a weigh in for the collected tabs:
OC………from pull tabs. ;25
Batien says the money raised from the pull tabs helps cover the costs of families who stay at the house while their child is recovering in a local hospital:

Assistant Fire Chief Jim Clark says the city’s firefighters enjoy the opportunities to give back to the community:
OC……..any way they can. :07
The pull tabs collected by the city firefighters will cover the expenses of a family for a week at the Ronald McDonald House.
Fire Station 3 located in Greenville collected the most tabs, just over eight pounds worth.
