WOODBURY DEPUTY GOES BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY TO HELP MOTHER & SICK CHILD

A WOODBURY COUNTY DEPUTY IS EARNING PRAISE FROM HUNDREDS OF SIOUXLAND RESIDENTS FOR HELPING A MOTHER AND HER SICK CHILD DURING AN EARLY MORNING TRAFFIC STOP.

DEPUTY KYLE CLEVERINGA STOPPED A CAR AT 19TH & NEBRASKA STREETS BECAUSE IT HAD A BURNED OUT TAIL LIGHT AND LICENSE PLATE LIGHT.

THE DEPUTY SAYS A YOUNG MOTHER, MINDY MATHEWSON, LET HIM KNOW HER ONE YEAR OLD WAS HAVING TROUBLE BREATHING:

CLEVERINGA HAS SERVED ON THE DEPARTMENT FOR 3 1/2 YEARS, INCLUDING THE PAST YEAR AS A PATROL DEPUTY.

HE IS THE SON-IN-LAW OF FORMER SIOUX CITY POLICE CHIEF JOE FRISBIE.
