WESTSIDE PURSUIT LEADS TO ARREST OF SUSPECT

A SIOUX CITY MAN IS IN CUSTODY FACING NUMEROUS CHARGES FOLLOWING A PURSUIT ON THE CITY’S WESTSIDE AROUND 2AM FRIDAY MORNING.

35 YEAR OLD MYRON BEAUVAIS IS CHARGED WITH ELUDING, SECOND DEGREE THEFT, RECKLESS DRIVING, DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE, NO REGISTRATION OR INSURANCE AND OTHER COUNTS.

COURT DOCUMENTS STATE THAT AN OFFICER ATTEMPTED TO PULL OVER THE SUSPECT’S VEHICLE AT WEST 4TH AND HAMILTON ON A SEAT BELT VIOLATION BY A PASSENGER, BUT THE CAR SPED AWAY.

THE PURSUIT WENT THROUGH WESTSIDE NEIGHBORHOODS AT UP TO 70 MILES AN HOUR ENDING WHEN BEAUVAIS’ VEHICLE WENT OVER A RETAINING WALL AND STRUCK A TREE AT A DEAD END ON WEST HIGHLAND.

THE SUSPECT ATTEMPTED TO FLEE ON FOOT AND WAS STOPPED BY A TAZER.

THE CAR BEAUVAIS WAS DRIVING WAS REPORTED AS STOLEN IN FLANDREAU, SOUTH DAKOTA.

BEAUVAIS IS BEING HELD IN THE WOODBURY COUNTY JAIL ON $12,400 BOND.
