THE WOODBURY COUNTY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE HOPES TO HIRE ANOTHER EMPLOYEE TO HELP WITH THE COLLECTION OF PAST DUE FINES BY LOCAL OFFENDERS.

PATRICK JENNINGS TOLD THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS THAT HE WILL MAKE A FORMAL PRESENTATION TO THEM NEXT MONTH ON THE PROGRAM’S SUCCESS AND FUTURE NEEDS:

OC….6 TO 8 MONTHS OUT. ;20

BUT JENNINGS SAYS A CHANGE IN THE LAW THAT TOOK EFFECT IN JULY HAS PLACED MORE OF A BURDEN ON THE COUNTY TO COLLECT THE FINES:

OC………..OUT OF THE PROGRAM. :24

JENNINGS SAYS THE FINES GO TO VICTIM’S RESTITUTION AND ALLOW PREVIOUS OFFENDERS TO REGAIN THEIR DRIVER’S LICENSE.

HE SAYS THE ADDITIONAL COLLECTED FINES SHOULD COVER THE COST OF THE NEW EMPLOYEE.

JENNINGS HAS ASKED TO HAVE THE PROPOSAL BE ON THE SEPTEMBER 6TH BOARD AGENDA.
