THERE WILL BE A THREE WAY RACE FOR THE 3RD DISTRICT SEAT ON THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS THIS FALL.

INCUMBENT SUPERVISOR MARK MONSON WILL RUN AS AN INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE.

MONSON LOST IN THE JUNE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY TO MARTY POTTEBAUM AND SAYS HE HAS RECEIVED A LOT OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO RUN AS AN INDEPENDENT:

MONSON HAS OFTEN CAST THE SWING VOTE IN DECISIONS WITH THE OTHER TWO DEMOCRATIC AND TWO REPUBLICAN SUPERVISORS.

MONSON SAYS DESPITE SUCCESS LIKE THE CF INDUSTRIES EXPANSION, MORE EFFORT NEEDS TO BE PUT INTO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.

HE ALSO IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE DETERIORATION OF THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE AND LACK OF MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES.

REPUBLICAN BRIAN MILLER IS THE THIRD CANDIDATE IN THE RACE.

MONSON IS HOPEFUL HE WILL RECEIVE ENOUGH VOTES TO GAIN A FOURTH TERM ON THE BOARD:
