Governor Branstad says the digital world is a “rapidly changing environment” and that state employees need more training, too.

Von Wolffradt says computer systems in each state agency here are being graded to identify and fix risks.

State officials are updating the state’s emergency response plans to address potential cyber attacks on physical infrastructure like power grids and water systems.

Von Wolffradt plans to launch a more robust public education campaign in October about cyber security in Iowa schools and businesses.
