THE HEADS OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IN FIVE NORTHWEST IOWA COUNTIES HAVE WITHDRAWN SUPPORT FOR A STATE SENATOR WHO CHANGED HIS PARTY STATUS FROM G-O-P TO NO AFFILIATION IN JUNE.

1ST DISTRICT STATE SENATOR DAVID JOHNSON SAYS HE LEFT THE IOWA REPUBLICAN PARTY BECAUSE HE CANNOT SUPPORT DONALD TRUMP.

JOHNSON ALSO MADE COMMENTS REFERRING TO REPUBLICANS AS RACISTS AND FASCISTS.

THAT HAS PROMPTED THE DISTRICT COUNTY CHAIRS OF CLAY, DICKINSON, LYON, OSCEOLA AND PALO ALTO COUNTIES TO WITHDRAW ALL SUPPORT FROM JOHNSON.

THE FIVE COUNTY CHAIRS SAY JOHNSON HAS DESERTED THE DISTRICT AS THEIR REPUBLICAN SENATOR, AND THEY WILL WORK TO ELECT A PERSON WHO SUPPORTS THEIR PARTY AND VALUES.
