UNION COUNTY FATALITY

One person is dead and another seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Union County Wednesday evening.

A spokesman with the South Dakota State Patrol says 92 year old Lawrence Brewer of Elk Point failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with another pickup at a Highway 50 intersection near Junction City.

Brewer was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene. The other driver, 36 year old Jerod Welch of Westfield, Iowa, suffered what authorities say are serious but not life-threatening injuries.
