At least 15 people were injured in Wayne after a reported tornado struck the Nebraska town Friday.
A spokeswoman for Providence Medical Center in Wayne says one trauma patient was flown by helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.
Seven injured people walked into the hospital for treatment, and seven others came in by ambulance as a result of two separate auto accidents.
Witnesses reported that the tornado destroyed at least four homes and the city's softball complex. Several businesses were damaged.
A Nebraska Emergency Management Agency spokeswoman says people were trapped in a building in Wayne, and a hazardous material crew was dispatched to a gas leak at a supply company.
Wayne State College's main campus was not affected though.
Other injuries were reported in Macy, but no fatalities.
Officials in Macy have imposed a curfew.
Governor Dave Heineman has issued an emergency declaration for the area surrounding Wayne.
