The chairman of the South Dakota Democratic Party says he's resigning to move closer to his wife in Sioux City, Iowa.
Ben Nesselhuf says he has accepted a job as campaign manager for Jim Mowrer, who is running for Congress against Republican Rep. Steve King. He says the job allows him to be closer to his wife, Angie, in Sioux City.
Vice-chairwoman Deb Knecht of Houghton will take over as the party's interim chairwoman and deputy executive director Zach Crago will become executive director.
Knecht says Nesselhuf has built a statewide network of committed volunteers and she's excited to expand on his efforts to grow a coalition of women, family farmers and young people.
