St. Luke's Unity Point Health Center has upgraded its imaging technology for patient treatment.
The hospital has acquired a new Siemens Definition AS 64 CT scanner.
Dr. Dan Jensen, Director of St. Luke's Radiology Department, says it's the first of its kind in Siouxland:
Dr. Jensen says the software can reduce radiation exposure for patients by up to 60%;
The CT scan offers improved scan times, reducing the total time patients will be required to spend in the scanner.
It will be used for everything from vascular and cancer diagnosis to broken bones.
The CT scanner will be located in a new space located near St. Luke's Emergency Department.
