A woman who says she was kidnapped by a northwest Iowa man who is also accused of killing his mother has testified in his trial at Fort Dodge.
21 year old Jessica Vega, of Storm Lake, testified before a Webster County jury Tuesday after opening statements in the trial of Kirk Levin.
Vega said Levin showed up at her home the morning of January 3rd and asked her to drive to nearby Early.
She testified that he later told her she was being kidnapped and he then tied her up with a rope.
Vega said she was able to escape when Levin drove the car into a ditch.
The 21 year old Levin is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his mother, Marilyn Schmitt.
He is also charged with third-degree kidnapping.
