The prosecution wrapped up its case Wednesday in the Monona County trial of an Onawa woman charged with murder in the drowning of her 15-month-old son.
25 year old Ashley Cameron is charged with first-degree murder and child endangerment in the 2012 death of Markis Dahms.
Police say Cameron held Markis under a running faucet in a bathtub until he drowned. The results of an autopsy led to Cameron's arrest. She pleaded not guilty last year.
Cameron is being represented by the public defender's office, and they will be calling defense witnesses to testify Thursday.
Cameron waived her right to a jury trial and District Court Judge Jeffrey Neary is presiding over the case.
Judge Neary granted a request by defense witnesses to not have their testimony taped by television stations covering the trial. One of the witnesses is a juvenile.
