A man charged with robbing a Sioux City bank last November has pleaded guilty in federal court.
27 year old Johnnie Hawkins of Sioux City pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of bank robbery.
Hawkins was charged with robbing the Heritage Bank located at 4530 Singing Hills Blvd of $5,954 dollars.
Prosecutors say Hawkins brandished a loaded and stolen 40 caliber semi-automatic handgun, and threatened and physically restrained a bank teller.
Sentencing before United States District Court Judge Mark W. Bennett will be set after a pre-sentence report is prepared.
Hawkins faces a possible maximum sentence of 20 years' imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
