Sioux City's air traffic control tower will remain open.
The tower at Sioux Gateway Airport was not on the Federal Aviation Administration's final list released Friday.
However the F-A-A says it will shut down Dubuque's air traffic control tower April 7th due to federal budget cuts.
It's one of 149 air traffic control facilities around the country that will close due to the federal spending cuts known as sequestration.
No towers in Nebraska or South Dakota were on the closure list.
The towers scheduled to close are at smaller airports with lighter traffic, and all pilots are trained to land without help. They can communicate among themselves on a common radio frequency.
