The chairman of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission says no major problems were revealed in background checks of the three groups who've submitted proposals for a new land-based casino in Sioux City.
Jeff Lamberti and the commission met in a closed-door session with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
The commission visits Sioux City on March 26th to take a look at the four proposed casino sites. Lamberti says the visit is an important part of the decision process:
The commission will also hold a public hearing on the four proposals. Lamberti hopes residents will turn out and give their input.
The commission will make a decision on the best proposal at its April meeting.
