SIOUX CITY---Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad has approved a proclamation to help low-income families affected by flooding along the Missouri River.
Branstad on Thursday approved an individual assistance grant program to help residents in six counties - Woodbury, Monona, Harrison, Pottawattamie, Mills and Fremont.
The program provides grants to families with household incomes at or below twice the federal poverty index.
The maximum grant a family can receive is $5,000.
