MRHD'S CHAIRMAN HAS RESPONDED TO PENN GAMING'S REJECTION OF THEIR NEW CONTRACT EXTENSION THAT WAS OFFERED MONDAY NIGHT. MARK MONSON ISSUED A STATEMENT SAYING QUOTE...
"Penn's comments are disingenuous at best. MHRD last night once again proactively approved another multi year extension, in response to what we heard at the last IRGC meeting.
The extension provides protections for the employees first and foremost, and for the IRGC, the City of Sioux City, and for MRHD.
MRHD's action last night was not a modification of any contract, clearly Mr. Schippers who represents Penn was confused about MRHD's action.
MRHD also repeatedly tried to contact representatives of Penn prior to this action, but they were uncharacteristically unavailable, giving MRHD no option but to approve this agreement for the sake of the employees and their jobs.
Mr. Schippers comments, in the wake of Penn's public rejection of an extension at the last IRGC meeting, prove Penn's continued lack of concern for their employees over their profits."
