SIOUX CITY WOMAN CHARGED WITH INJURING 2 DAY OLD INFANT

A SIOUX CITY WOMAN IS IN JAIL ACCUSED OF INJURING HER TWO DAY OLD SON BY ALLEGEDLY THROWING HIM AT HIS CRIB.

32-YEAR-OLD MEGAN JAMES IS CHARGED WITH CHILD ENDANGERMENT RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY, A CLASS C FELONY.

COURT DOCUMENTS STATE THAT JAMES GAVE BIRTH TO A HEALTHY, FULL TERM BABY BOY ON NOVEMBER 15TH.

COURT DOCUMENTS SAY ON NOVEMBER 17TH, THE BABY SUFFERED SKULL FRACTURES WHILE IN THE CARE OF THE DEFENDANT IN HER HOSPITAL ROOM.

UNITY POINT HEALTH STAFF WAS SUSPICIOUS OF THE BABY’S INJURIES AND THE EXPLANATION PROVIDED BY JAMES.

AN INVESTIGATION BY AUTHORITIES LED TO THE DEFENDANT ADMITTING THAT SHE CAUSED THE INJURIES BECAUSE SHE BECAME FRUSTRATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO BREAST FEED THE BABY WHEN SHE HAD A MIGRAINE AND WANTED HIM TO STOP CRYING.

COURT DOCUMENTS SAY JAMES ADMITTED THROWING THE BABY AT HIS CRIB WHERE HE HIT HIS HEAD ON THE CRIB AND THEN HIT HIS HEAD ON THE FLOOR OF THE HOSPITAL ROOM.

THE BABY HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN OMAHA FOR TREATMENT OF HIS INJURIES.

MEGAN JAMES IS BEING HELD IN THE WOODBURY COUNTY JAIL ON $30,000 BOND.
