THE IOWA STATE PATROL HAS RELEASED THE NAME OF A REMSEN, IOWA MAN WHO WAS KILLED MONDAY NIGHT WHEN HIS CAR COLLIDED WITH A SEMI NEAR MERIDEN IN CHEROKEE COUNTY.

AUTHORITIES SAY 46 YEAR OLD MARK OFFERMAN DIED WHEN HIS CAR WAS STRUCK HEAD ON BY A SEMI HAULING HOGS.

THE STATE PATROL SAYS OFFERMAN’S VEHICLE CROSSED THE CENTER LINE ON HIGHWAY 3 INTO THE PATH OF THE SEMI BEING DRIVEN BY 21 YEAR OLD JOSEPH MEYER OF HULL.

MEYER WAS NOT INJURED.

THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT MONDAY NIGHT.

THE CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE STATE PATROL AND CHEROKEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE.
