A TEAM OF ARCHEOLOGISTS FROM THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA HAVE BEEN SENT TO NORTH SIOUX CITY AFTER HUMAN BONES WERE DISCOVERED.

SKELETAL REMAINS WERE FOUND LATE LAST WEEK NEAR EXIT TWO OFF INTERSTATE 29 BY A UTILITY CREW THAT HAD BEEN DIGGING THERE.

AT LEAST FOUR SEPARATE GRAVESITES WERE DISCOVERED.

A SPOKESMAN WITH THE SOUTH DAKOTA STATE HISTORICAL SOCIETY ESTIMATES THAT THE BONES DATE BACK TO THE CIVIL WAR ERA, BETWEEN 1860 AND 1880.

HE SAYS SQUARE NAILS USED IN THE COFFINS HELP DETERMINE THE POSSIBLE AGE OF THE BURIAL SITE.
