A charge of first degree murder has been filed against Jonathon Neunaber of Akron, Iowa.
Neunaber is accused of killing his mother, Esther Neunaber.
The bodies of Esther, and her husband Donald Neunaber, were found in their rural Akron home on July 9th.
Plymouth County Attorney Darin Raymond filed the arrest warrant Thursday morning.
The state medical examiner determined the cause of Mrs. Neunaber’s death as homicide.
Court documents state that Jonathon Neunaber admitted to investigators that he willfully, deliberately, and with
premeditation caused the death of his mother Esther Neunaber.
The cause of death of Neunaber’s father has yet to be released and no charges have been filed regarding his death.
Jonathon Neunaber was taken into custody by authorities in La Crosse, Wisconsin, a day after the discovery of the bodies of his dead parents.
He has been held in the Plymouth County Jail as a material witness.
Bond has been set at one hundred thousand dollars.
His initial appearance before a judge will take place Friday morning.
