The Siouxland Historical Railroad Association is holding its Heritage Giving Weekend over the next three days.

It’s an online initiative to raise funds to construct the Sioux City & Dakota Grand Scale Railroad, which will be a fun and educational railway ride and exhibit to show the history and importance of the railroad to Midwestern culture.

Photos and videos of the train being built can be viewed at GiveToMuseum.com, where you may make an online donation.

The project has a goal of $60,000 for the purchase of the train set and track building materials to build a Miniature Railroad at the museum located at 3400 Sioux River Road.

The train set is currently under construction in Fort Worth, Texas.
