THERE’S STILL SEVERAL LEGAL ISSUES TO BE SETTLED BETWEEN THE ARGOSY BELLE RIVERBOAT CASINO, THE IOWA RACING AND GAMING COMMISSION AND MISSOURI RIVER HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT.

ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY JUSTIN VONDRAK SAYS SIOUX CITY IS ALSO INVOLVED IN THOSE UPCOMING PROCEEDINGS:

OC…GO TO TRIAL. :21

ONE ISSUE IS WHEN THE ARGOSY STOPPED PAYING MRHD ITS MONTHLY SHARE OF GAMING REVENUE MONTHS AGO, WHEN MRHD BECAME THE NON-PROFIT LICENSE HOLDER OF THE NEW HARD ROCK CASINO.

THE FATE OF THAT MONEY, WHICH PENN GAMING HAS PLACED IN A TRUST FUND, HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED.

PENN GAMING ALSO MAINTAINS THAT THE IRGC WAS WRONG TO AWARD THE NEW CASINO RIGHTS TO SIOUX CITY ENTERTAINMENT INSTEAD OF ALLOWING THEM TO BUILD A NEW LAND BASED CASINO.

THE NEXT TRIAL INVOLVING THE CASINO ISSUES TAKES PLACE IN SEPTEMBER.
