THE ARGOSY CASINO RIVERBOAT WILL BE OPEN FOR AWHILE LONGER.

THE IOWA SUPREME COURT HAS GRANTED AN EMERGENCY STAY TO PENN NATIONAL GAMING AND THE CASINO TO REMAIN OPEN WHILE THE COURT CONSIDERS THE APPEAL FROM THOSE ENTITIES AGAINST THE DECISION BY THE IOWA RACING AND GAMING COMMISSION TO CLOSE THE CASINO.

THE IRGC PREVIOUSLY ORDERED THE CASINO TO CLOSE JULY 1ST, BUT POLK COUNTY JUDGE ELIZA OVRUM GRANTED TWO PREVIOUS STAYS, THE LATTER OF WHICH WAS SET TO EXPIRE AT MIDNIGHT OF JULY 22ND.

NOW THE SUPREME COURT WILL ALLOW THAT STAY TO CONTINUE UNTIL THEY REVIEW THE APPEAL.

THE IRGC HAS UNTIL MONDAY TO FILE AN OBJECTION TO THE DECISION.
