THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES IN THE DEATHS OF AN ELDERLY COUPLE FROM RURAL AKRON, IOWA.

THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY SHERIFF SAYS THE CAUSE OF DEATH HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED YET FOR 83 YEAR OLD DONALD NEUNABER.

HIS BODY WAS DISCOVERED WITH HIS 80 YEAR OLD WIFE ESTHER NEUNABER IN THEIR HOME ON JULY 10TH.

AUTHORITIES SAY ESTHER NEUNABER’S DIED OF BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA, AND HER DEATH IS CONSIDERED A HOMICIDE.

THEIR SON, 44 YEAR OLD JONATHAN NEUNABER REMAINS IN CUSTODY IN THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY JAIL AS A MATERIAL WITNESS IN THE CASE.

HE IS BEING HELD WITHOUT BOND.

NO CRIMINAL CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED IN THE CASE.

JONATHAN NEUNABER’S CAR WAS PROCESSED FOR EVIDENCE BY THE STATE D-C-I IN DES MOINES ON THURSDAY.

THE VEHICLE IS NOW BACK IN PLYMOUTH COUNTY.
