THE JACKSON POLLOCK PAINTING “MURAL” IS NOW ON DISPLAY AT THE SIOUX CITY ART CENTER.

A RIBBON CUTTING FOR THE MASTERPIECE TOOK PLACE SATURDAY MORNING.

MURAL IS ON LOAN FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA ART MUSEUM, BUT COMES TO SIOUX CITY AFTER BEING RESTORED IN LOS ANGELES.

ART CENTER DIRECTOR AL HARRIS FERNANDEZ SAYS THE 70 YEAR OLD MASTERPIECE WILL GO ON A WORLD TOUR AFTER LEAVING SIOUX CITY NEXT YEAR:

HE SAYS BRINGING “MURAL” TO SIOUX CITY IS THE FIRST STEP IN WHAT WILL LEAD TO ONGOING COLLABORATIONS WITH THE ART CENTER.

THE ARTWORK IS INSURED FOR $140 MILLION DOLLARS.

IT WILL BE SHOWN AT THE ART CENTER FOR TEN MONTHS.
