A court date has been scheduled next month for an independent candidate for U.S. Senate in South Dakota who failed to make the November ballot.
A complaint was filed earlier against Clayton Walker, accusing him of perjury and filing false documents.
The attorney general’s office said Tuesday night that Walker had turned himself in to the Hughes County Jail and been released on personal recognizance.
He is due in court July 7.
Defeated U.S. Senate candidate Annette Bosworth has also been indicted on perjury and false documents charges. She calls the charges “political persecution.”
