Tyson Foods is the top bidder to acquire Hillshire Brands, the maker of Jimmy Dean sausages.

Tyson offered $63 per share to acquire Hillshire, which is based in Chicago.

The all cash transaction is valued at over $8.5 billion dollars.

The final bids for the company were submitted Sunday afternoon.

Tyson, which is based in Springdale, Arkansas; is the biggest U.S. chicken processor and a major processor of beef and pork.

The purchase gives Tyson well known brand names with Hillshire’s Jimmy Dean sausages and Ball Park franks, as well as other Hillshire Farms products.
