SIOUX CITY MAN DIES FROM TRAFFIC ACCIDENT INJURIES

SIOUX CITY POLICE SAY A MAN HAS DIED FROM INJURIES SUSTAINED AFTER HE WAS STRUCK BY A VEHICLE WHILE WALKING ACROSS HAMILTON BOULEVARD LAST THURSDAY MORNING.

AUTHORITIES SAY 60 YEAR OLD ROBERT IBSGAARD DIED EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

INVESTIGATORS SAY IBSGAARD WAS CROSSING THE INTERSECTION OF WEST 7TH AND HAMILTON LAST WEEK WHEN HE WAS STRUCK BY A CAR WHOSE DRIVER FLED THE SCENE.

THAT DRIVER, 22 YEAR OLD MARK BELTRAN, WAS LOCATED AT 1722 HAMILTON.

BELTRAN WAS ORIGINALLY CHARGED LAST WEEK WITH FAILURE TO YIELD TO A PEDESTRIAN IN A CROSSWALK, FAILURE TO REPORT AN INJURY MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT, DRIVING WHILE SUSPENDED AND NO PROOF OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.

THE CASE HAS BEEN FORWARDED TO THE WOODBURY COUNTY ATTORNEY FOR REVIEW AND POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL CHARGES.
