TWO NAMES WERE ADDED MONDAY TO THE ROLL CALL OF LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL WHO HAVE GIVEN THEIR LIVES IN THE LINE OF DUTY.

WOODBURY COUNTY ATTORNEY JAMES BRODIE AND SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT MATRON EILEEN HEILMAN WILL HAVE THEIR NAMES ENGRAVED ONTO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL OUTSIDE CITY HALL.

THOSE TWO DIED WITH CHIEF DEPUTY JIMMIE BIGGS IN AN AIRPLANE CRASH ON MARCH 11TH OF 1959 WHEN THEY WERE RETURNING AFTER DROPPING OFF A FEMALE PRISONER AT MITCHELVILLE, IOWA.

BRODIE’S SISTER, PHYLLIS HOLZRICHTER OF SIOUX CITY, SAYS IT’S TAKEN 55 YEARS FOR HER BROTHER AND HEILMAN TO BE REMEMBERED FOR THEIR SACRIFICE:
