A SUSPECT IS IN CUSTODY AFTER YANKTON POLICE SAY HE THREATENED TO SHOOT UP A SCHOOL IN THAT SOUTH DAKOTA CITY.

THE YANKTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVED THE THREAT JUST AFTER 11AM WEDNESDAY, AND YANKTON CITY POLICE WERE DISPATCHED TO EACH SCHOOL IN TOWN.

YANKTON POLICE CHIEF BRIAN PAULSEN SAYS THE SUSPECT, 23 YEAR OLD TRAVIS POTTS OF YANKTON, WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY WITHIN 20 MINUTES.

POTTS ALLEGEDLY POSTED HIS THREAT VIA TWITTER.

HE FACES CHARGES OF TWO COUNTS OF MAKING TERRORISTIC THREATS.

POLICE WERE TO OBTAIN A SEARCH WARRANT FOR POTTS’ RESIDENCE AND THEIR INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING.
