Morningside College has received a $50,000 donation from the MDU Resources Foundation to support the college’s “Vision 2020: Transformation II” campaign.

Morningside President John Reynders says the campaign has reached 89 percent of its goal.

Since October of 2012, the Vision 2020 campaign has raised more than $44.7 million toward its goal of $50 million dollars by 2019, which will be the 125th anniversary of Morningside’s founding.

The Vision 2020 campaign already has funded a $1.5 million renovation of Eppley Auditorium that was completed last fall.

Work is underway on a $13 million project that includes a new classroom building, a new advising center and remodeling the Hickman-Johnson-Furrow Learning Center.

A planned renovation of the Lillian E. Dimmitt Residence Hall also is part of Morningside’s fundraising campaign.
