THREE PEOPLE ARE FACING CHARGES AFTER A PURSUIT THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH WOODBURY AND MONONA COUNTIES.

LT. CHUCK HERTZ OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS THE INCIDENT BEGAN AROUND 7AM WHEN A DEPUTY SPOTTED A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE WITH THREE OCCUPANTS GOING IN AND OUT OF FARM DRIVEWAYS NEAR PORT NEAL.

WHEN THE DEPUTY STOPPED THE VEHICLE, A FEMALE SUBJECT GOT OUT AND THE VEHICLE WITH TWO MALE OCCUPANTS SPED AWAY:

THE VEHICLE LATER AVOIDED STOP STICKS PLACED NEAR HORNICK AND SPED ON AT 80 TO 90 MILES AN HOUR.

THE PURSUIT ENDED NEAR MAPLETON IN MONONA COUNTY WHERE A DEPUTY STOPPED THE CAR WITH A “PIT” MANEUVER:

THE DRIVER, 25 YEAR OLD DAVID WHITLOCK AND PASSENGER, 27 YEAR OLD RANDALL DURAND, BOTH OF SIOUX CITY, WERE TAKEN TO AN ONAWA HOSPITAL WITH INJURIES.

WHITLOCK WAS THEN TRANSPORTED TO THE WOODBURY COUNTY JAIL AND HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH FELONY ELUDING AND NUMEROUS TRAFFIC OFFENSES.

THE FEMALE PASSENGER, 20 YEAR OLD FELICIONNA REYES, WAS JAILED ON A PAROLE VIOLATION.

LT. HERTZ SAYS THE DEPUTY WHO SPOTTED THE VEHICLE WAS ON DUTY AS PART OF THE CLICK IT OR TICKET EFFORT.

ONE OF THE SUSPECTS WAS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT, SO WILL BE CITED FOR THAT VIOLATION.
