THURSDAY WAS THE DEADLINE FOR SIOUX CITY AND OTHER STATE MUNICIPALITIES TO SUBMIT REPORTS TO THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ON JUSTIFYING THE USE OF TRAFFIC CAMERAS.

THE CITY SUBMITTED A 6 PAGE REPORT TO THE D-O-T AS PART OF THOSE NEW RULES REGARDING RED LIGHT AND SPEED CAMERA PLACEMENT.

THE CITY HAS FIVE OF NINE FIXED RED LIGHT CAMERA SYSTEMS AND THREE TRAILER CAMERA UNITS TO MONITOR SPEED THAT ARE UNDER THE STATE RULES.

THE D-O-T IS NOT EXPECTED TO MAKE A DECISION ON THE DATA FOR AT LEAST A MONTH.
