STUDENTS AT TWO SIOUX CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ARE CASTING BALLOTS THIS WEEK TO PICK A NAME FOR A NEW SCHOOL UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN MORNINGSIDE.

THE NEW SCHOOL IS BEING BUILT ON THE SITE OF THE FORMER WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY BUILDING, WHICH WAS DEMOLISHED.

DAWN STANSBURY IS THE PRINCIPAL OF THE FORMER WASHINGTON STUDENTS, WHO NOW ATTEND CLASSES IN THE OLD LONGFELLOW ELEMENTARY BUILDING:

STUDENTS AT WHITTIER SCHOOL, WHO WILL ALSO ATTEND THE NEW SCHOOL ARE VOTING TOO .

THE KIDS ARE PICKING ONE OF FOUR NAMES ON THE BALLOT THAT WERE CHOSEN BY A COMMITTEE MADE UP OF PARENTS AND STAFF FROM THE TWO SCHOOLS:

THE WINNING NAME WILL BE SENT TO THE CITY SCHOOL BOARD FOR FINAL APPROVAL.
