THE IOWA RACING AND GAMING COMMISSION WILL MEET THURSDAY IN COUNCIL BLUFFS, WHERE THEY WILL TAKE ACTION REGARDING SIOUX CITY’S ONGOING CASINO DISPUTE.

THE I-R-G-C WILL ISSUE A FINAL DECISION REGARDING THE DENIAL OF THE RENEWAL OF THE LICENSE FOR THE ARGOSY RIVERBOAT CASINO.

THE HARD ROCK CASINO, CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN THE WEST END OF DOWNTOWN SIOUX CITY, IS SCHEDULED TO OPEN IN AUGUST.

THE COMMISSION HAS PREVIOUSLY RULED THAT THE RIVERBOAT CASINO WOULD OPERATE UNTIL THE NEW LAND BASED CASINO OPENED.

IT HAS BEEN TECHNICALLY OPERATING WITHOUT A LICENSE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS BECAUSE OF THEIR SEPARATION FROM THEIR FORMER NON-PROFIT LICENSE HOLDER MISSOURI RIVER HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT.

THE MEETING WILL BE HELD AT 8:30AM IN THE AMERISTAR CASINO IN COUNCIL BLUFFS.
