THE SIOUX CITY COUNCIL WILL MEET THURSDAY NIGHT TO CONSIDER WHETHER OR NOT TO DEMOLISH 18 STRUCTURES THAT HAVE BEEN RED TAGGED FOR MORE THAN SIX MONTHS.

CITY STAFF IS SUGGESTING THAT 15 OF THE BUILDINGS BE DEMOLISHED, WHILE THE OTHER THREE RECEIVE A 90 DAY EXTENSION SO REPAIRS MAY BE MADE.

JIM GENGLER, A LOCAL CITIZEN, WHO OBJECTS TO THE DEMOLITIONS, IS TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP FIX UP THE PROPERTIES:

GENGLER HAS ASKED BOTH CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS AND WOODBURY COUNTY SUPERVISORS FOR HELP IN SAVING SOME OF THE STRUCTURES.

THE MEETING WILL BEGIN AT 7PM IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON THE 5TH FLOOR OF CITY HALL.
