The 6th Annual Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place downtown Saturday at 12:15 p.m.

Nearly 60 entries representing local schools, sports teams, businesses and Irish families have signed up to participate.

Joe Conlon, a longtime employee of Mercy Medical Center and well known area fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, will be honored as the “Irish Person of the Year” in the parade.

The parade begins at 3rd and Iowa Streets and then heads west down 3rd to Jackson Street, where it will turn right for one block to 4th Street.

It will continue east down the length of Historic 4th Street, ending at Floyd Blvd.
