Autism in the United States remains on the rise, according to new statistics.
One in 68 children have an autism spectrum disorder, according to numbers released from the Centers for Disease Control.
For boys, the number is 1 in every 42.
The numbers reflect a nearly 30 percent rise in rates of the developmental disorder over the past two years.
Josh Cobbs, director of Sioux City’s Pier Center for Autism, says those numbers mean more resources are needed to help families with autistic children:

The new report did not address causes of autism.
