AN EARLY MORNING FIRE CAUSED HEAVY SMOKE AND HEAT DAMAGE TO THE WASTE MANAGEMENT BUILDING IN SIOUX CITY.

SIOUX CITY FIRE RESCUE RESPONDED TO THE CALL AT 1230 STEUBEN STREET JUST BEFORE 3AM.

FIREFIGHTERS FOUND SMOKE COMING FROM AROUND THE DOORS AND DISCOVERED A FIRE IN A FRONT END LOADING GARBAGE TRUCK PARKED INSIDE THE FACILITY.

CREWS QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AT THE UNOCCUPIED BUILDING.

THE TRUCK SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE.

INVESTIGATORS SAY THE FIRE STARTED IN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK FROM AN UNDETERMINED HEAT SOURCE.
