RESIDENTS OF SIOUX CITY CAN VOICE THEIR OPINION ON PROPERTY TAXES AND THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR’S BUDGET AT TODAY’S CITY COUNCIL MEETING.

A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE BUDGET WILL TAKE PLACE AND THE COUNCIL WILL THEN VOTE ON ADOPTING THE BUDGET.

THE PROPOSED RESIDENTIAL LEVY WILL BE $16.37 PER $1000 OF ASSESSED RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY VALUE, AN INCREASE IN TAXES OF $31.00.

$25 OF THAT IS BECAUSE OF A CHANGE IN THE STATE ROLLBACK FORMULA.

COMMERCIAL PROPERTY TAX PAYERS WILL SEE A $69 REDUCTION IN WHAT THEY PAY COMPARED TO LAST FISCAL YEAR.

THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING BEGINS AT 4PM ON THE 5TH FLOOR OF CITY HALL.
