A SOUTH SIOUX CITY MANUFACTURER IS CLOSING ITS PLANT IN MARCH.

MALLORY PLASTICS ANNOUNCED FRIDAY THAT IT WAS CLOSING ITS OPERATIONS IN AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM ITS PARENT COMPANY, HOPKINS MANUFACTURING OF KANSAS.

THE 33 WORKERS EMPLOYED IN SOUTH SIOUX WILL BE ABLE TO TRANSFER TO THE COMPANY’S EMPORIA, KANSAS PLANT WHERE THE WORK IS BEING RELOCATED TO.

THERE WAS SOME GOOD ECONOMIC NEWS OUT OF SOUTH SIOUX CITY ON FRIDAY ALSO.

WISCONSIN BASED BIG OX ENERGY WILL BUILD A WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IN THE ROTH INDUSTRIAL PARK.

A MEMO OF UNDERSTANDING HAS BEEN SIGNED BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE COMPANY FOR THE BIOENERGY FACILITY WHICH WILL CREATE UP TO 30 NEW JOBS.

THE PLANT WILL BE 100 PER CENT PRIVATELY FINANCED WITH CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN LATER THIS YEAR.

OPERATIONS WOULD BEGIN IN LATE 2015.
