FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT RESULTS IN CHARGES

ONE PERSON IS DEAD AND ANOTHER INJURED FOLLOWING A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT LATE FRIDAY NIGHT IN SIOUX CITY.

POLICE SAY A WHITE PICK UP TRUCK COLLIDED WITH A MOTORCYCLE AT WEST 17TH AND HAMILTON BOULEVARD SHORTLY BEFORE 11PM. THE WHITE PICK UP THEN LEFT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT.

INVESTIGATORS SAY THE MALE DRIVER OF THE MOTORCYCLE DIED FROM INJURIES SUSTAINED IN THE ACCIDENT. A FEMALE PASSENGER ON THE MOTORCYCLE WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED.

THEIR NAMES HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED.

POLICE FOUND THE PICK UP TRUCK A SHORT TIME LATER. INVESTIGATORS ARRESTED THE OWNER OF THAT TRUCK, MIGUEL MUNOZ OF SIOUX CITY.

MUNOZ IS CHARGED WITH LEAVING THE SCENE OF A FATAL ACCIDENT, LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING SERIOUS INJURY, AND FAILING TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN.

THE INVESTIGATION OF THE ACCIDENT IS CONTINUING.
