Powell Broadcasting is pleased to announce that Terry “Woody” Gottburg has been hired as News Director of 1360 KSCJ Radio. Gottburg has over 30 years experience in radio and tv news broadcasting and announcing in the Sioux City metro area. He has previously served as news and sports director at other local radio stations, as well as news assignment editor at all three Sioux City tv stations.
He began his career in 1978 as play by play announcer for the Sioux City Musketeers USHL hockey team, and also was their home game public address announcer for several years. He was hired by Waitt Broadcasting in 1999 to help KMEG TV restart their local news operation and served as their assignment editor for over a decade.
Gottburg, a life long Sioux City resident, is married with two sons. He has a degree in Business Administration from Morningside College. He is a board member of the Sioux City Museum and Historical Association. He is past president of the Sioux City Jaycees and also volunteers as a little league baseball and Upward Basketball coach.
