SIOUXLAND—FLOODING LEFT TWO MOTORISTS STRANDED SUNDAY EAST OF REMSEN. THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVED A 911 CALL OF A MOTORIST THAT HAD BEEN WASHED OFF THE HIGHWAY DUE TO FLOODING.

DEPUTIES LOCATED TWO VEHICLES NEAR 190TH STREET AND L22. BOTH DRIVERS WERE ON TOP OF THEIR VEHICLES AND UNINJURED.

ONE OF THE VEHICLES WAS STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE OTHER HAD BEEN WASHED OFF THE ROAD NEARLY 50 YARDS INTO A FIELD.

THE ONLY VISIBLE PART OF THE CAR WAS THE ROOF. DUE TO HIGH WATERS, THE DRIVERS COULD NOT BE REACHED.

THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY RESCUE AND RECOVERY DIVE TEAM WAS ACTIVATED.

WITH SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT, THE DIVE TEAM WAS ABLE TO ENTER THE WATER AND RESCUE BOTH DRIVERS.

THE VEHICLES WERE REGISTERED TO 21 YEAR OLD LAURA MAYER OF MARCUS AND THE OTHER BY NATHAN MARKWORTH OF VERMILLION.
