SIOUX CITY—Last week it was noted that in the event of a failure of a dam, large rain event or levy breach, Sioux City will utilize the Outdoor Emergency Sirens.
The sound that will be utilized in this instance has a different sound (whoop) than a regular Severe Weather sound.
The Outdoor Emergency Sirens will still sound the normal tone for tornadoes and/or severe thunderstorm warnings with damaging winds of 70 mph or greater.
