SIOUX CITY—SOME GOOD NEWS IN THE MISSOURI RIVER FLOOD ORDEAL, THE SIOUX CITY REGIONAL WATER SUPPLY IS SECURE AND WILL REMAIN SO.

CITY MANAGER PAUL ECKERT SAYS WELLS ARE BEING PROTECTED AND WATER WILL NOT REACH THE PLANT ELEVATION.

THE SEWER COMPLEX IS ALSO SECURE AT THIS TIME. HIGH WATER IS NOT EXPECTED TO REACH SIOUX CITY EXCEPT ON THE RIVER SIDE OF I-29.

THE SIOUX CITY PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT HAVE CLOSED THE ANDERSON DANCE PAVILLION, CHRIS LARSEN, AND FLIGHT 232 MEMORIAL DUE TO THE WATER RISE.

CHRIS LARSON ROAD WILL BE CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC. THE WELCOME CENTER WILL BE CLOSED BUT ACCESS TO BEV’S AND THE HILTON GARDEN INN AND THE ARGOSY WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL CONDITIONS CAUSE THEIR CLOSURE.
